Read Joanne’s Weekly Newspaper Column!
Each week our Founder, Joanne Steenberg writes a column for the Penobscot Bay Press inspired by her interactions with love throughout her daily life.
More and more she is finding that her column writing and The Love Card work are melding together and feeding each other.
This upcoming year her columns will be published as a book through Penobscot Books!
Quotes from Joanne’s Columns
“For me, A Christmas Carol is a spiritual wake-up call that reminds us that no matter what burdens we carry, we can soften. We can forgive others and ourselves. We can release resentment. We can move into the future with more kindness, patience, honesty, and generosity. Even as a young girl, I remember thinking, If Ebenezer can turn his life around and choose love, then maybe anyone can… maybe even me.”
“And while the goodbyes can make our hearts heavy, life has a beautiful way of handing us new beginnings just when we need them. A dear friend of mine just became a grandmother, her joy is radiant. This weekend, we went from visiting her sweet newborn grandson at the farmer’s market to saying goodbye to another dear friend now in hospice. That’s the reality, isn’t it? One breath in… and one breath out. Life truly is a series of hellos and goodbyes.
